Introducing a New Way to Request Your Student’s School for the 2026-27 School Year
Springfield Public Schools is introducing a new and improved way for families to select their child’s school.
Starting this year, families will use a new online platform to enroll, request high school placement or to apply to magnet elementary and middle schools.
The system is designed to make communication quicker, clearer, and more convenient.
The new platform, which is called SchoolMint, will allow families to:
• Receive more timely updates and reminders.
• Complete forms and applications more easily.
• Track school choice information in one place.
• Stay connected throughout every step of the process.
School Selection for the 2026-27 school year begins January 12th and continues through February 13th. We are sharing simple explanations, videos and step-by-step guidance to help families feel confident using the new system when School Selection starts.

Important Update for Families Selecting Putnam Vocational Technical Academy
In addition to the new School Selection system, there is one more change for students who want Putnam as their school of choice.
The state now requires vocational programs across Massachusetts to use a lottery-based admission system. This means every student who selects Putnam will take part in a lottery that determines placement.
